Why You Shouldn't Be Too Afraid Of Going Too Slow | F*ck Comparison And Go At Your Own Pace.

“Children have a lesson adults should learn, to not be ashamed of failing, but to get up and try again. Most middle-aged adults have resigned themselves to failure.” ― Malcolm X, The Autobiography of Malcolm X.

There's nothing wrong with going at your own pace, just know that if you get too slow you may stop. Going at your own pace is something that isn't talked about more or encouraged.

Everything is a rat race, from the minute we open and close our eyes. You may feel as though you aren't making any progress with your self improvement or daily habits, but no worries.

This is your sign to let you know that something great is in the works for you, take your time and you will be there in no time, divine time.

Chinese proverb; Be not afraid of going slowly; be afraid only of standing still.

On a spiritual level, everyone has their own path to persuade and follow. Everything is moving at different frequencies, so the only thing you should be afraid of is standing too still. Elements of human nature are timeless, so you should take your time lovely.

As easy as beating yourself up is, instead it’s important to revert that energy into positive everyday habits. Everyday you should be pushing your limitations, accomplishing things, and improving.

Think about it, in 10 years time when you look back on your younger self and journey, you can genuinely be proud of yourself instead of that regretful feeling of doing nothing or standing still. The key is constant progress, consistency. As it can be hard, continuous progress is better than none, even if slow.

So what’s it gonna be 👀?

Constant accumulations of small victories that in turn give you big victories sound much more positive, healthy and progressive. By reminding yourself that it is day one rather than doing it one day is very beneficial to your self improvement performance. It helps eliminate procrastination but also tests you, don’t overthink it, just do it.

The bigger issue

The problem many seem to face is we often become forgetful that it is us who have to take these small steps to achieve the things we want. Pulling yourself up when you start to feel doubtful is important to reminding yourself of the clear goals you set for yourself. It's great to visualise ourselves at the top of our goals, but unless you have a genie, it’s you that has to put in that work and effort to get there.

With everything being so social media, it is way too easy to fall into a black hole of of influencer paradise and day dream about ourselves being there too. But we are aware of how difficult it is to make it to being that influencer. There’s so many negatives that are blind sighted that pose a distraction to our way of life and reality goals.

Being in constant fear of missing out, self-image issues and comparison, romanticised addiction, and so much more. As we get older, move on and grow within our lives, we must forget these small minded negative picks because it isn't real, more so a social construct 👀

Ensuring there is an honest level of discipline is a start, don't you think? Being accountable for your action is also a huge small target most seem to turn a blind eye to. Let’s not be afraid to sacrifice, have discipline and put in commitment. Without these, whatever you have in mind will remain a dream.

Breaking the stillness cycle

Take that first step or stay behind.

The biggest step could be just making that first move, getting started. Movement is important.

You are THAT innovator, don’t ever doubt yourself, instead you need a whole load of credit 💁 One of the many things that prevents us from getting out there and reaching our full potential, fear. Being in fear allows you to freeze.

Does one failure mean that you’re not good? Oh of course not! We learn from our mistakes and embrace the changes. The act of failure leads to thinking of new ways to overcome obstacles.

Identify your strengths then use them.

Recognizing one’s unique strengths is the key to success as it never helps to compare oneself to others.

When you are faced with such circumstances, you automatically think of innovative ways to succeed.

Final thoughts

Focus on your focus, on what you need to get done. It's very easy to let our mind slip into the hands of influencers, social media and let it take full-time control. Alongside human emotions it all gets complicated. Stay present and in your own lane will get you far.

Listening to progressive lifestyle podcasts is a daily habit to incorporate for a soft girl lifestyle. I love substituting my music for these pod talks, I feel as though I can get clearer with my dreams, targets, goals and path.

What have you learnt from going at your own pace?
